Firma EA zapowiedziała, że kolejne serwery, służące do gry online, dla stosunkowo starych gier zostaną zamknięte. Zamykanie rozpocznie się 11 stycznia i na pierwszy ogień pójdzie The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II oraz będzie trwać do początku marca. Większość gier, dla których serwery zostaną zamknięte, stanowią produkcje sportowe. Zaplanowane wyłączenia na luty i marzec stanowią zaledwie 1% wszystkich gier, więc ekipy odpowiedzialne za te tytuły zajmą się pozostałymi 99%.
